Cost & Margin Pricing for WooCommerce

VAT and rounding

VAT

VAT is added according to the product's tax class and your store's base-country rates — the standard class, reduced classes and tax-free products yield different final prices from the same calculation. Compound taxes are handled in the correct order. If your store uses "prices excluding tax", everything is calculated excluding.

Rounding happens once

Rounding happens exactly once, at the end of the chain — never in intermediate steps, where errors would accumulate. Per rule you choose:

  • None — the raw price is kept, rounded to the currency's decimals.
  • Nearest / up / down at any step (1, 5, 10 …) — classic rounding.
  • Psychological endings — land on …9, …95, …99 or …195: 187.43 becomes 189, 1,843 becomes 1,799 or 1,895 depending on the setting.

Currency and tax side

The currency controls default decimals: JPY rounds to whole numbers, CHF to 0.05 steps. Rounding can happen on the price including or excluding VAT — pick whichever matches how your customers see prices, so the neat numbers are the ones visible in the store. After rounding, the preview shows the real margin the final price yields.
