Why alt text?
Alt text is read by screen readers, indexed by image search and a legal requirement for many organizations (accessibility directives). Yet half the images on a typical site lack it — because writing hundreds by hand is tedious.
Manually
Filter by Missing alt and type directly in the fields. Good alt text describes what the image shows, short and concrete, without phrases like "image of".
With AI
Click the AI button on a row and the AI analyzes the image and suggests alt text — in your site's language, with the file name and page as context. You see the suggestion before it is saved and can edit or discard it. The free version gives 10 suggestions per month; Pro gives 500–10,000 and can generate all metadata fields and run in bulk.
Language
The default is your site's language. Change it globally under Settings → Metadata or per run in the AI dialog.
